This experience focuses on equipping learners with the skills to design and implement a smart monitoring system tailored for Industry 4.0 environments. Participants will leverage their understanding of IoT, data analytics, and automation to create solutions that enhance operational efficiency. By applying classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios, learners will develop systems capable of tracking and analyzing industrial processes, providing valuable insights for decision-making.

Expected Outcomes

• Functional Prototype Monitoring System-Development of a basic, working system that can track vibration and temperature in hard-to-reach bearing areas and monitor furnace temperatures. The system should be able to collect real-time data and, where possible, trigger alerts based on set thresholds.

Project Deliverables

• Monitoring System Prototype: A proof-of-concept system that includes sensors for vibration and temperature tracking on bearings, Furnace temperature monitoring with automated alerts for temperature drops, and a basic data logging process.
• Final Presentation: A 10–15 minute presentation summarizing project goals and approach, System design and implementation, Data findings and analysis and recommendations for next steps or improvements.
